Apartment Therapy

Thank you to old friend Leela Ross and Apartment Therapy for featuring my roommate Sam and I this past week! Please click here to see the full post.

Sam, Kona and I having coffee in the living room.

We do spend a lot of time in our living room, it’s where  friends gather to catch up on the day and where we come to relax.

The living room.

I am obsessed with the pink/purple vintage peruvian throw from Upstairs Pierre Lafond in Montecito.  It is amazingly soft and the colors are beautiful!  Also pictured in the background is one of my most prized possessions, a screen print by Weegee.

The dining room with high oak table and bar stools from Ikea.

Will Adler and Morgan Maassan photography in the background.

Check out Will Adler’s website here, and Morgan’s here.  These are two of my favorite photographers and they also happen to be local friends.

Sam's bedroom with driftwood wreath.

If I ever have free time on my hands I enjoy getting a little crafty on occasion.  A few years back a friend and I started a small business where we create art pieces from drift and recycled wood.  Sam has a wreath hanging above her bed.  Please click here to see more of our designs and inquire about ordering.

Thank You!

how do you get to the bu?

As summer is quickly approaching I find myself at the office daydreaming of a perfect day at Malibu.  One of my favorite surf stops in the summer, I can’t help but get excited for the beginning of south swell season. True, you do have to share it with 100 of your best friends, but there is still something that always keeps me coming back for more.

I have put together a little list of what I plan to bring along.

1. vintage picture of Miki Dora, 2. Shiseido sunscreen, 3. Panama hat from JCrew,

4. Swim suit, Mikoh, 5. Wetsuit top, Roxy, 6. Surfboard endless summer model, Hobie.

Missoni Home

Missoni, the classic Italian fashion house has been in the fashion design and textile industry for generations.  A family owned business, the brand continues to live up to high luxury Italian standards.  The Missoni Home collection has caught my eye over the past few years because of the classic Missoni patterns and the fun color ways that are sure to brighten up any abode.

Design a room

Lately I have been dreaming of a room with a little bit of attitude.  I am loving the look of rough cut gems and stones right now.  Paired with a classic Chesterfield sofa and vintage Moroccan rug.  Look below to see what I came up with.

1. Chesterfield Sofa, black leather.

2. Vintage lamp.

3. Madeline Weinrib ikat and vintage textile pillows.

4. Noir Graff coffee table.

5. Aventurine and brass flourite bauble box, Kelly Wearstler for                                                   Bergdorff Goodman.

6. Vintage Moroccan Rug, Mansour Modern.

Slim Aarons

Best known for “photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places”.  Doesn’t sound too bad to me, here are a few of my favorites:

Poolside at the Edition

On a recent trip to Hawaii I spent an evening at the Edition Hotel in Waikiki.  I was pleasantly surprised to see this new addition. The Lounge is a great place to chill out and have a cocktail, and poolside looks over Waikiki harbor. If you want to live it up step into Crazybox, the hottest new nightclub in Waikiki.

Peter Dunham

One of my favorite things about Peter Dunham is the way his designs capture a certain attitude.  His projects include areas where you just want to sit around and hang out.  I can picture myself sitting and chatting with friends, while enjoying a meal or just sitting for hours.  Nothing is too serious and his signature fabric line draws inspirations from Persia, Turkey and India.

Shop Hollywood at Home to see his designs and fabric line, like the peacock ikat (pictured above) and the rush chairs (shown in the first photo).  Also see some of his past projects here.
